It’s week four of Down the TBR Hole. These books are 27 – 31 on my Goodreads TBR list. (The numbering was messed up because I add a lot of books from the same series to my TBR.)
Find out how it works at the bottom of this post!
1. White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Here she is on my TBR again. I put her most infamous series ‘Luxe’ as Conflicted because if I am in the mood, I would probably binge some Armentrout romance. But only if I am in the mood for trashy (but still great) romance. Hmm, call me a hypocrite, because here is a paranormal romance that I am not dismissing. If I am in the mood for this particular kind of romance, I know that Armentrout will always be there. Even if it’s just a ‘get your mind off real life quick’ read.
Verdict: Keep
2. Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter
Soo this one I actually have on my bookshelf! Sounds great. The entire premise is right there in the title. This zombie apocalypse book could be an interesting read. I will, of course, keep this on my TBR but it has been a very long time since I have read a zombie book and I’m not sure if I will any time soon.
Verdict: Keep
3. Reborn (Shadow Falls: After Dark #1) by C.C. Hunter
Vampire school. Hot guy with secrets. Hello, every plot of every vampire book. That might be a little critical. Apologies! I adore many books like Vampire Academy that has a similar plot starter. But I’m going to be honest with myself and say that I only read very specific vampire books now.
Verdict: Go
4. Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls #1) by C.C. Hunter
Oops, I did it again. I have said something super critical and now I regret it as soon as I saw this book. This book has good ratings and a very high number of reads. This is the first series set in Shadow Falls whereas the above book is kind of a spin-off I think. This book, however, does sound really interesting. It’s a camp where the supernatural can go to learn how to control their abilities. Sounds like something I would read if I am in the mood for it. If I ever get around to reading this… I will maybe give Reborn a try.
Verdict: Keep
5. Doon (Doon #1) by Carey Corp &Lorie Langdon
This kind of sounds like a cool, historical vibe, fantasy book. I read the synopsis and I am intrigued but I doubt I will read this.
Verdict: Go
I think I must have been in my much younger Gizelle state of mind when I added these to my TBR. But even now I can agree that it doesn’t matter how old you get, you always need the trashy romance or paranormal novel to read in times of need.
Happy Reading !

How it works:
- Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
- Order on ascending date added
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
