On Goodreads, I have 574 Books on my To Read list. While I know that this is a ridiculous amount, I cannot blame my poor book-loving heart for wanting to read every book I come across.
Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (with the banner!)
How it works:
- Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
- Order on ascending date added
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
These books were added to my TBR on September 2017 – that’s a long time ago!
1. Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle #1) by Christopher Paolini
This classic and beloved book was the first book I ever added to my TBR. I have the entire series but I have not had the want to read it yet. I think the size of the books can be a bit intimidating. However, I do know a bit about them and I know that I will probably love them (when I read them).
Verdict: Keep
2. Beautiful Chaos (Beautiful Creatures #3) by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
It is so strange that the third book is just sitting there on my TBR. I did read Beautiful Creatures a few years ago and I loved it. I do want to read the entire series one day. I love the magic and the witches. There were so many amazing things in the first book.
Verdict: Keep
3. Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I read a spin-off of this series. It was called The DArkest Star and I really like it. Alien Romances can be fun to read. I have mixed feelings about this though because I know I will like it but I don’t think I will ever go and buy these books. But I guess if I’m ever in the need for a good romance, I’ll read it.
Verdict: Mixed Feelings
4. Leviathan (Leviathan #1) by Scott Westerfeld
This book is one that I added because I had heard about Scott Westerfeld and decided to add this to my TBR. This story is about a Prince prior to WW1. I have the second book in the series sitting on my shelf. I think I will only buy these books because they are pretty. Not because I will actually read them. It is a sad day in bookland because I just realized that I will remove this book from my TBR. 😥
Verdict: Go
5. The Ill-Made Mute (The Bitterbynde #1) by Cecilia Dart-Thornton
I read the first 1/3 of this book. One of my friends swears by these books. They are her favorites and no matter how much I tried to get into them, I just could not read this. It is a high fantasy, very descriptive book. But it just did not do it for me.
Verdict: DNF/ Go
Wow, that was difficult. Who would have thought nostalgia for books that you’ve never read could be so intense.
This gave me an idea. I should go through my TBR list and actually read them in the order that I added them. (Maybe I can do it for a challenge one month.) Obviously, I won’t read all 574 in a month but I will try and get as far as I can.
Happy Reading !
