Synopsis
When seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen…but he is in fact something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she’d only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head…
My Review
I have never read a Jennifer L. Armentrout book before. She has written lots of books that are on my TBR list but I have never actually gotten around to reading one. With this said, I know that Luc appeared in the Lux series and I feel like I’m missing the excitement of having read the Lux series first. However, this book on its own was exciting, fun and so adorable.
Evie is a great main character. She is very realistic and relatable. There are so many funny and awkward moments. I also loved Luc’s character and getting to know him through Evie’s eyes.
I must say that the concepts and the plot really made the book. The whole book was fast paced and exciting. I didn’t put it down once I picked it up. This was also very unique and different than my usual fantasy read and thus made for a fun and unexpected story.
I really enjoyed this and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good alien romance.
“Maybe sometimes it took a little stupidity to be brave.”
Happy Reading !
